Education is a source of hope. It contains the hope for justice, peace, and beauty; it also contains the hope for social harmony. Pope Francis, 20201
Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School inspires them with the words of St Oscar Romero. They strive to not only have more, but to be more.
They are expected to respect each person’s dignity and work together for justice, peace and reconciliation as members of a Catholic school family. Students are taught to respect and be responsible and to care for their environment, as well as others, following the example of Jesus Christ.
They believe faith and life are interconnected. They encourage thinking through their Faith Life Inquiry and encourage students to make connections across learning areas and ask questions. This allows them to engage with the world and help them understand their place within it. They are authentically connected to the Catholic religious tradition of their Catholic faith and encourage dialogue among students to help them grow in their faith in today’s world.
They are part of the Parish of Our Lady’s in Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park. They prepare Catholic students through school-based programs for the reception of Sacraments of Reconciliation (Year 3, Eucharist (Year 4), and Confirmation (6).
Oscar Romero offers a differentiated, personal curriculum that addresses the needs of diverse students. This includes students with special learning needs, disabilities, giftedness, and students who come from other languages than English.
